<-- Click the picture to enlarge I came across this infographic and it really challenged me about how often we take the Bible for granted. Most of us have multiple different translations of the Bible, plus study guides and commentaries that are easily available. We also have access to free online / smartphone Bibles and so many Bible tools. Yet we often neglect the precious jewel that has been entrusted to us and don't appreciate its full value. In our materialistic culture, it's easy to think of value in monetary terms, and yet the Bible is probably the most valuable thing we can hold in our hands. And yet there are millions of people who don't have the Bible in their own language. This makes me very sad. But it makes me glad to know that there's something I can do to help. So this Christmas, the extra charity that I will be supporting is Wycliffe Bible Translators. If you feel privileged to have the Bible in your own language, maybe you'd like to join me. |
